At Waterberg Plateau, you’re introduced to this ecologically rich sphere, from the oldest rock stratum, dinosaur tracks to the battle field of the Ovaherero people and German colonial forces.
In the Bwabwata National Park you encounter animals that inhabit the river landscapes, including crocodiles, hippos and truly fascinating birdlife.
The Chobe National Park is well known for its large buffalo and elephant herds, which you encounter on game excursions on land and water.
To top off this amazing trip you visit the Victoria Falls which is among the seven natural wonders of the world.
Day 1: Arrival/Windhoek
Arebbusch Travel Lodge
Arrival at the Windhoek International Airport. You are welcomed to Namibia by your non private English speaking tour guide. During your short drive through the Avis mountains to Windhoek city, you will be introduced to the customs and ways of the country and get your first feel of the African savannah.
Overnight at Arebbusch Travel Lodge which is situated in one of the last remaining green spaces of Windhoek.
Day 2: Waterberg Plateau Park

Your journey begins travelling north east to Waterberg, situated within the Waterberg Plateau Park just east of Otjiwarongo, a particularly prominent feature, elevated high above the plains of the Kalahari and home to over 200 bird species, the Waterberg Plateau Park was created to provide refuge for several of Namibia's rare and endangered species in 1972. Visit the oldest rock stratum which is over 850 million years old and dinosaur tracks which were left there some 200 million years ago. Evidence of early human inhabitance are rock engravingsbelievedtobeseveralthousandyearsold. Inthefoothills,istheearly 20th century battle field site of the Ovaherero people and German colonial forces. Above all, the mountain view trail leads to the edge of the mountain, here, the true beauty of the plateau is revealed.
Day 3: Kavango
Kaisosi River Lodge
Continue your journey to Rundu, a small village/town on the banks of the Okavango River, the natural and political border between Namibia and Angola. Notice the sudden change of landscape as you enter the Kavango region, you can see tall trees, very sandy earth surface and villages are built near the road, traditional huts can be seen along the asphalted road. Freely roaming domestic animals such as cattle and goats can pose danger to traffic. Along the road side, varieties of souvenirs and piles of firewood are for sale.
Day 4: Kavango
Popa Falls Resort
Time for an excursion to Popa Falls and to the small Mahango Game Park, a protected area within the Bwabwata National Park. It is situated at the country's eastern border with Botswana in the flood plains of the Okavango River basin. This small game park has a very rich diversity of mammal species including elephants and buffaloes, the rare sable antelope and lechwes.
Day 5: Caprivi Strip
Sharwimbo River Camp
Today your journey takes you to the heart of Caprivi. The Kwando River rises from the central Angolan highlands forming the boundary between Namibia, Zambia and Angola, and meanders through the spectacular Caprivi Strip in northwest Namibia. The area surrounding the Kwando River is known for its protected game reserves, national parks and wildlife sanctuaries, hence, offering excellent game viewing with the perennial waters of the river attracting plentiful wildlife including large herds of elephant, hippos, crocodiles, red lechwe, zebra, impala, spotted-necked otters and over 400 bird species.
Day 6: Caprivi Strip
Sharwimbo River Camp
Enjoy your stay at Sharwimbo River Camp. Built on a hillock, each en-suit tented chalet is granted direct views onto the Kwando River allowing visitors to soak up the spectacular views of wild Africa. Whether you explore the park on land or on water, every excursion is guaranteed to offer a different impression with new experiences. Enjoy the unique Eastern Caprivi atmosphere from the privacy of your tree house deck.
Day 7: Chobe National Park

Depart for Kasane, an incredible village/town built in Chobe National Park bordering Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Cross into Botswana via the Ngoma Border post. The Chobe National Park in Botswana is popularly known for its spectacular elephant and hippo populations, here the waters equally attract all manner of game including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them.
Day 8: Chobe National Park
Water Lily Lodge
Today you enjoy a full day of exploration in the Chobe National Park. In the morning, we recommend a game drive in an open as 4x4 safari vehicle. This is the best time to spot most antelopes, predators and a variety of birdlife. After a relaxing siesta, you can indulge in a boat cruise on the Chobe River. You can fairly track hippos and crocodiles in the open river landscape. Spot a variety of birdlife - especially the African fish eagle with its distinctive cry. The Chobe National Park is waiting to impress you.
Day 9: Victoria Falls
Ilala Hotel
Off to the next country for more amazing experience (Zimbabwe). In the late afternoon you visit the magnificent Victoria Waterfalls to view them in the best light for photography. Perhaps the spray is large enough to form rainbows? A variety of optional activities in Victoria Falls are available to choose from such as a scenic helicopter flight over the falls, white-water rafting on the Zambezi or a sunset river cruise on the Ra-Ikane cruiser, a thrilling elephant ride or perhaps even a walk with lions. A bungee jumping or a "Bridge-Swing" awaits the adrenalin addicts.
Day 10: Victoria Falls
Departure
After you’ve had a leisurely breakfast, you are transferred to the Victoria Falls Airport. You start your homeward journey and reminisce on the unforgettable moments you have experienced.
